This particular shot shows very little background in order to focus on one specific subject. We will be using close ups in our trailer as these show extreme emotion and expression on characters faces. It also gives the audience a closer connection to the character. This shot allows the audience to feel like they are a part of the movie, making it even more frightening.
Hand held shots
This is when the camera is taken off the tripod and is held by the character. It is used within horror especially to create a sense of a lack of stability and makes the audience feel like there is something wrong. It is often used for documentaries. An example would be Paranormal Activity where the majority of the movie is shot with a hand held camera. It gives a sense of reality and a shaking trembling effect which also makes it more frightening.
Establishing shot

An establishing shot is often used to introduce a setting. We will be using this shot to introduce the house where most of the movie will take place. It shows the audience the surroundings of the location and where everything is happening.
Zoom
Zooming in and out of a subject creates more suspense and bring the audience closer to the object.
High angles
We will be using high angles to make our villain look much more superior and dominant. This makes the victim look weaker.
Point of view shots

This will be taken from the point of view of a character (most likely Casey - the main character in our story). The audience will be able to see through the eyes of the particular character. It allows the audience to partially experience what the character is experiencing and consider how they may be feeling at that particular moment.
